Dubai Canvas is a yearly festival held by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of Dubai Media Office, in which artists from around the world compete to create the best open-air street illusions.
During the year of Happiness, we decided to take part in this event and allow for an animated dimension to the street illusion.
We Installed an Augmented Reality mirror, a door to a parallel universe where happiness is fun characters that pop put of no where and interact with people passing by.
Result
Bouncy balloons, cartoon characters and happy colorful clouds all react to the user’s body movement, hand gestures regardless if you are a kid or adult.
In an environment full of illusions painted on floors and walls to be seen from a specific angle, ours was the most freeing adding a sense of community, shared joy and happiness to all.
