We are very excited to have won the first Gitex Awards 2019 for the category of Best Consumer Experience for our JPOD submission.

This is really the cherry on top of a successful and highly innovative project that wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for the futuristic minds of Johnson & Johnson, J3 and UM Mena.


The Augmented Reality Holographic smart skin sensor machine was revolutionary and is paving the way for more interactive and experiential future forward marketing tools.

About

The JPOD is an intelligent machine capable of detecting skin conditions and providing reliable results in the form of holographic images projected directly on the user’s arms.
15 completely interactive and automated skin sensing pods of two different sizes were deployed in key supermarkets, clinics and pediatrician offices with the aim of raising awareness about hard water in the region and how this affects mother and their babies differently.

An interactive screen displayed a carefully selected list of questions and relevant information as demonstrated below.

Result

The JPOD automatically activates itself when users pass nearby, it scans their face and right arm and provides valuable skin health information recommending the best moisturizing creams and shower washes all in a fun and interactive experience.

The activation results so far are impressive, overwhelming excitement to what is deemed to be a high-end user experience, 70% more user retention, high level of engagement and word of mouth advertising the PODS as innovative communication to the consumer and best of its class.
Skin results so far: 50-70% of the engaged users had Skin Type: Very Dry Skin.
The general reactions of mothers were surprise and shock and determination to use JJ products to moisturize themselves and their toddlers more frequently as well as use JJ’s water softening products.
